SAASTA Connect Winter Carnival
On Wednesday the 14th of June, selected SAASTA Connect students were invited to attend the SAASTA Connect Winter Carnival at St Clair Recreation Centre on Kaurna Land in Woodville. We were joined by many schools from across South Australia including the Riverland, Yorke Peninsula and across the metropolitan area.
On arrival, we were separated into different groups. A big focus of the day was to interact with different people and to make connections with people not only from our own school, but from across the other schools as well. In our different groups we then rotated through a range of activities run by School Sport SA. We participated in European Handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Team building activities, cultural painting and interacted with a Volleyball Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Damien Schumann.
SAASTA treated us to lunch and snacks throughout the day, as well as giving us all drink bottles to take home. The winning group from the day, according to their team work, leadership, communication and sportsmanship, won SAASTA Bucket Hats.
We had an awesome day!
