After three and a half years of planning the Sturt Building was officially opened on Tuesday March 1st. Principal Ruth Mussger congratulated Cox Architects for their inspiring vision and design, and Sarah Construction for the meticulous attention to detail during the build. The Sturt building was part of $20 million Capital Works Project that also included a new Technology Studies Workshop, Entrepreneurial Learning Centre and a refurbishment of the Art Suites.

The Sturt building is designed as a contemporary learning space for Year 7 and 8 students with generous breakout spaces and purpose built collaborative areas, as well as Aboriginal Education, Special Education and an Inclusive Education Centre.

The opening was attended by the Minister for Education, John Gardner, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition Dr Susan Close and local Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick.
