"EVERYONE BELONGS"

Today marks the first day of Harmony Week at Murray Bridge High School.  We will be celebrating with different activities held each day. Today we had a 'Taste of Harmony' staff luncheon where staff were asked to bring a plate of food to share  that represents their culture.

We have many people on staff who come from different cultures including: Indigenous Australia, China, Croatia, England, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, Ukraine, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

We had a smorgasbord of dishes to choose from such as Bing pancakes from Northern China, Sapin-Sapin or "layers" a glutinous rice dessert from the Philippines, Piragi from Latvia, Walnusskuchen cake from Germany, Moussaka from Greece, Pannekoek from South Africa, Pear and Marscapone cake from Italy,  Chicken Curry and Rice from Singapore, biscuits from England, and Vegemite sandwiches, Anzac biscuits and Tim Tams from Australia.

Students also participated in activities in the Quadrangle. The theme of the day was "Everyone Belongs" where students had the opportunity to do a Chalk Mural within a frame in the quadrangle showing what Harmony means to them. There was also German activities in the Glasshouse and the Sound Production students performed a DJ set where students joined in and danced to the music. An enjoyable day was had by all.
