Curriculum Guide

Year 10 - Theatre Company

Course Overview

Have you ever wanted to learn how to operate a lighting or sound desk; age a teenager to appear 70 years old, or create an interactive media backdrop?

In Theatre Company you will get to ‘taste and try’ multiple areas associated with the off-stage roles in theatre including lighting and sound design, set or prop design, stage management, character costume, hair and makeup design, film and multimedia production and publicity/promotions. You then choose your favourite(s) to specialise in. The final assessment will require you to collaborate with on-stage performers to produce what is needed for a real public performance. This could be becoming their lighting designer, doing their character makeup, promoting their performance, or any other off-stage role.

This subject is assessed against SACE Stage 1 Integrated Learning Performance Standards.
