In the first part of the course students will gain skills through traditional art practices which may include painting, the potter’s wheel, printing or sculpting and graphic/visual communication design. In the second part of the course students will be given the opportunity to focus on either visual art or design skills where they will be guided through an in depth project. Throughout the course, students will develop design skills to complete a design brief and follow the design process; they will improve formal and critical analysis skills, understand art and design in different contexts and complete a practitioners’ statement in preparation for SACE.
Materials will be provided including an A4 or A3 sketchbook.
