Year 9 - Technology Studies B

Course Overview

This course builds practical experience in Woodwork, Metalwork, Computer Aided Design and locally recycled/sourced materials to invent or redesign products. It is a skill- based course in which students learn to work with a variety of tools, materials and software. Students use a variety of workshop equipment and are encouraged to develop a range of skills and more specialised manufacturing techniques. Students will learn about the design cycle while undertaking building projects. WHS is a significant component of this subject making sure students stay safe while using hand tools, power tools and plant machinery. 

WHS requirements for practicals are closed in footwear, apron and safety glasses are to be worn in every lesson.
