Year 9 - Media Arts

Course Overview

This course is an introduction to media and design principles. Students will analyse various forms of print and screen media and consider the role of media and how media affect their intended audience. Students will develop skills by working through the three stages of production: pre-production (design, scriptwriting, storyboarding), production (image manipulation, video and audio recording, directing), and post-production (editing, evaluation and presentation). Students work individually and collaboratively to develop their organisational and communication skills. They will undertake roles such as, scriptwiter, camera operator, designer, editor, director and editor.
