Year 8 - Visual Art

Course Overview

This course will build on students' drawing skills (charcoal or chalk and pastels), painting skills (acrylic techniques), clay/sculpting skills (creating coil pot technique and a small sculpture) and printing (monoprint) skills. Students will build on their knowledge of the elements of art and learn about the principles of design, recognising these through work of artists and designers. Students will be introduced to curating displays. Throughout the course, students will gain self reflection skills throughout the artistic process and at completion of projects.

 

Materials will be provided including an A4 or A3 sketchbook.
