Year 10 - Food Technology - Cafe Culture

Course Overview

Students explore cafe style food with prototyping and testing to a target audience, they build on their kitchen skills and processes to operate safely and efficiently in the kitchen while working with their peers. Students learn the skills of managing a real life school based cafe and will develop the knowledge and skills to create a business model, financial decisions, marketing, promotions and customer service.  

The second part of the course will be the running the cafe as a small school based business and may require some time outside of lesson time.

This subject is assessed against SACE Stage 1 Integrated Learning Performance Standards.
