Students have the opportunity to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to make informed decisions about their health, safety and wellbeing. Students explore personal, social and community health concepts such as nutrition, drugs and alcohol and sexual health and relationships to develop the attitudes and behaviours to make healthy lifestyle choices.
They reflect on and refine personal and social skills as they participate in a range of physical activities including invasion, net/court and striking and fielding games, as well as fitness and recreational activities. Students develop an understanding of the importance of regular physical activity and appreciate the role it plays in defining cultures and identities.
All students have an opportunity to participate in a Year 8 Aquatics day in Term 4.
