Students will refine their skills in music performance, musical literacy, composing and arranging. Students choose to develop their practical skills in a variety of contexts such as, senior school ensembles, rock bands, small groups and/or as a soloist (optional). They complete project(s) on composing and arranging in a variety of styles using music notation software and develop musical literacy skills relevant to them and their chosen practical context. Students will have the opportunity to perform at many local and school events and partake in music workshops with guest artists
To ensure progression of skills, students will need to hire or own their own instrument and attend instrumental lessons. Some instrumental lessons are provided by DfE instrumental music free of charge, other lessons are at a cost (Please see enrolment of instrumental lessons form).
