Year 9 - Music – Special Interest

Course Overview

This specialist course will develop skills on their chosen instrument (Flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, voice, piano, guitar, bass guitar, drum kit or percussion) through instrumental lessons, rehearsals and regular in class and community performances. Students will gain knowledge of music notation and song analysis and apply to this knowledge to their practical lessons. 

To ensure progression of skills, students will need to hire or own their own instrument and attend instrumental lessons. Some instrumental lessons are provided by DfE instrumental music free of charge, other lessons are at a cost (Please see enrolment of instrumental lessons form).
