Curriculum Guide

Year 9 - Robotics

Course Overview

Robots are the future. Robots are already here. Robots are everywhere!

Students learn how to work together to design, build, modify, program and drive robots to complete a set challenge. To build the robot during the semester, teams will design and build mechanical, electrical and software control systems, as well as integrate them all into a single remote-controlled machine.

Robots are built using a reusable platform, powered by android technology, and coded using Java-based programming. It’s fun, engaging, hands-on, and may be the start of a career pathway for many students. In building their robot, students learn valuable life skills like teamwork, collaboration, communication, and engineering skills.
