Curriculum Guide

Year 7 - Music - Special Interest

Course Overview

This specialist course will allow students to specialise on their chosen instrument (Flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, voice, piano, guitar, bass guitar, drum kit or percussion) through instrumental lessons, rehearsals and regular performances. Students will also experiment with music notation and digital creating and recording of music.

To ensure progression of skills, students will need to hire or own their own instrument and attend instrumental lessons. Some instrumental lessons are provided by DfE instrumental music free of charge, other lessons are at a cost (Please see enrolment of instrumental lessons form).
